RedLine Solutions issues case study
RedLine Solutions has released a new case study, Gilbert Orchards Improves Inventory Accuracy and Workforce Efficiency with RedLine Cooler. The case study details the major inventory accuracy improvements and lower labor costs that Gilbert Orchards has achieved since implementing RedLine Cooler in February 2012.
An inventory and traceability system that uses wireless mobile computers to record and update information in real-time, RedLine Cooler helped Gilbert Orchards scale rapid growth by moving away from manual systems.
With automated updates to product location and pallet movements, as well as validated order staging and shipping, RedLine Cooler has helped Gilbert Orchards eliminate negative pallet tags and reduce order fulfillment time. Ultimately, the system helped them ship more trucks of produce per day.
Another significant benefit has been reduced labor costs. Despite order volume increases of more than 36% over the past two years, Gilbert Orchards has managed to reduce its headcount. The firm is saving on average 2.5 cents per box on shipping labor, which translates to approximately $70,000 in labor savings in the first year of deployment.
