FedEx Custom Critical, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp, recently launched a new service called Temp-Assure Shipping Studies.

FedEx Custom Critical, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp (NYSE: FDX), recently launched a new service called Temp-Assure Shipping Studies. This service enables customers to improve the quality of their temperature-control supply chain through a combination of research, evaluation, and recommendations related to specific shipping methods and lanes.
In conducting a Temp-Assure Shipping Study, the FedEx Custom Critical team uses its expertise in temperature-control transportation to examine various aspects of a customer’s cold-chain protocol, which can include shipping lane, packaging configuration, and/or container choice. This research results in recommendations on new shipping options or enhancements to the customer’s current plans. FedEx Custom Critical can also create a protocol and/or transportation plan specifically for the customer. The new consultative service is available for US and international shipping.
Customers can use the information to help support their US Food And Drug Administration compliance efforts. Examples include those who have received a 483 warning letter from the FDA, emerging new drug companies, and large pharmaceutical companies releasing new products.
“Temp-Assure Shipping Studies enables us to offer customers a service that goes beyond our surface and air transportation services; it allows us to offer our temperature-control expertise,” said Virginia Albanese, FedEx Custom Critical president and chief executive officer.
The Shipping Studies research and analysis process can help improve quality and meet compliance standards on particular shipping lanes, packaging methods, or other aspects of temperature-control shipping. As a result, the research findings can help to mitigate the risk associated with a customer’s supply chain.
