Cabot Creamery has selected John Galt’s Atlas Planning Suite as its enterprise demand planning software system.

Cabot Creamery has selected John Galt’s Atlas Planning Suite as its enterprise demand planning software system. Cabot joins a list of dairy providers that use the Atlas Planning Suite as part of their demand planning process, including Kemps, Organic Valley, and Saputo.
The creamery had previously used the ForecastX Wizard from John Galt to produce accurate statistical forecasts and build its planning process, but needed to move beyond spreadsheets to support further growth. Cabot chose Atlas Planning due to its statistical forecast accuracy, its powerful data warehouse, and its Event Manager that allows Cabot to account for promotions and other unique circumstances.
“John Galt has been a good partner to us, and they understand our industry,” says Anne Lamere, information services business analyst at Cabot. “With Atlas, we are going to be able to keep their statistical expertise but also manage our process more efficiently.”
“Given the nature of their products and promotional demand, food industries face unique planning challenges,” says Anne Omrod, president and chief executive officer of John Galt. “Cabot is just the latest dairy company to take advantage of the power of Atlas Planning to solve these challenges.”
Cabot Creamery Cooperative has been in continuous operation in Vermont since 1919 and makes a full line of cheeses, yogurt, sour cream, cottage cheese, and butter. It is owned by the dairy farm families of Agri-Mark, a Northeast dairy cooperative. For more details, go to www.cabotcheese.coop/.
