Edy's Grand Ice Cream is voluntarily recalling 14,000 cartons of Toffee Bar Crunch ice cream and Peanut Butter Cup ice cream with either of these two codes: 18-1644 11 27 6B or 18-1644 11 27 6D.
The ice cream is being recalled because a small number of the 14,000 cartons may be mislabeled — some cartons feature Toffee Bar Crunch with carton lids featuring Peanut Butter Cup — and the ice cream may include peanuts, not declared on the label. Potentially affected cartons are the 1.75-quart size. The code can be found on the bottom of the carton.
The ice cream has been distributed in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast regions.
Individuals who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts may run the risk of serious or potentially life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. People with a peanut allergy or sensitivity to peanuts should not consume the ice cream and should immediately dispose of the product.
No consumers have reported symptoms of allergic reaction.
Consumers should send the bottom of the carton to Edy's Grand Ice Cream, Consumer Relations, 5929 College Ave, Oakland, CA 94618, for a full refund. Those with questions may phone Edy's Consumer Call Center at 888-837-4438.
