The University of Maryland’s Robert H Smith School of Business has announced its 2014-2015 Choptank Transport Scholarship award winner. This is the third year that Choptank’s scholarship has been given to a student at the University of Maryland’s business school.
This year’s recipient, Carley Scott, is from Salisbury MD and is a current junior at the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business. She has a clear plan for her future.
“My aptitude in science and math combined with my interest in business has led me to pursue degrees in Operations Management and Information Systems, complemented by a minor in Computer Science,” she said. “My technical background will allow me to tackle today’s business issues with a unique approach.”
Steve Covey, executive vice-president at Choptank Transport, said, “The speed of change in supply chain technology and development has placed a high value on quality education before entering into the logistics profession. As a leader in the 3PL world, it is our duty to help foster the next generation of logistic leaders. We wish Carley the best of luck in her educational pursuits.”
This annual scholarship requires students to reapply every year, and is available for students pursuing any business major. The application process begins in mid-March (spring break) through the last week of classes in early May. For more information, click here.
