RefrigiWear and the World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO) announced Kyle Ankiewicz of Trenton Cold Storage as the recipient of the WFLO Scholarship for the 51st WFLO Institute. This event will be held February 7-11, 2015 at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center in Atlanta GA.
For four years, RefrigiWear has awarded one student a full scholarship for the tuition and related expenses to attend the WFLO Institute, the cold storage industry’s premier training event. Recipients are selected based on their performance, leadership skills, and dedication to the industry.
“Providing training opportunities for the maximum number of promising executives in the cold storage industry is a top priority for WFLO,” said Corey Rosenbusch, president and chief executive officer of WFLO. “We know Kyle is a deserving candidate, and we thank RefrigiWear, a proud supporter of WFLO, for making the scholarship possible.”
Ankiewicz joined Trenton Cold Storage in September 2008 after majoring in purchasing and supply chain management at Fanshawe College. He began his career as a picker in the freezer, and achieved a 99.8% case accuracy rate. In 2010, Ankiewicz was promoted to back-up supervisor and in 2011 was promoted to shift supervisor. In early 2014, he was promoted to assistant warehouse manager and leads three supervisors and 30 team members in a 24/7 operation.
“I am extremely proud of what I have achieved so far in my career,” Ankiewicz said. “But I have much more to learn and accomplish, and I am excited to be able to attend the WFLO Institute to help reach the next level.”
As the recipient of this scholarship, Ankiewicz will be recognized during the closing session of the WFLO Institute and at a dinner in his honor during the event. In addition, RefrigiWear will bring Ankiewicz to its manufacturing plant in North Georgia for a tour.
