Refrigerated less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier Kool Pak° is rolling out a fleet of new 2015 Volvo trucks to its owner-operators. Kool Pak° purchased the trucks and leases them to independent owner-operator drivers who own their own businesses and supplement the Kool Pak° team of drivers.
Safely transporting frozen and chilled food products requires reliable equipment to protect shipments throughout the distribution process, especially during summer months. The purchase of the Volvo trucks eliminated the high operation and maintenance costs of the 2011 fleet of trucks, while also preventing breakdowns, unnecessary downtime, financial hardship, and potential customer service issues.
Kool Pak° is partnering with its owner-operators to ensure they are profitable and provide exceptional transportation services. Owner-operators expand the company’s fleet capacity to consistently meet temperature-controlled transportation needs of customers across the United States. With the truck lease program, owner-operators have improved mileage, as well as full-service maintenance agreements and no additional bills to pay.
Steve Ness, chief executive officer of Kool Pak°, said, “We are committed to taking care of our dedicated owner-operators as well as our employees. We treat everyone as family.”
That sentiment is shared by long-time owner-operator Ron Langley, who said, “There is so much less stress with these new Volvo trucks; no repair bills, everything is covered from the drive train to lightbulbs. There is room to move around, plus we are getting great fuel mileage. I couldn’t be happier. Kool Pak opens every door of opportunity for drivers to succeed.”
Established in 1968, Kool Pak° provides worry-free, temperature-controlled LTL transportation, warehousing, distribution, and logistics services throughout the United States and Canada. It places the highest priority on protecting client products throughout the distribution channel with temp-controlled docks, freezer, cooler and dry storage services, industry experience, and customer service. Five full-service terminals are located in Clackamas/Portland OR; Ontario and Patterson CA; Seattle WA; and Langley, British Columbia.
