MacroPoint, creator of patented freight tracking software, announced it is sponsoring the sale of collectible trucks at the third annual Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) gala benefiting Wreaths Across America (WAA).
“MacroPoint is proud to help TCA support placing remembrance wreaths on gravestones at Arlington National Cemetery and at more than 1,000 veterans’ cemeteries nationwide,“ said Bennett Adelson, president of MacroPoint.
This year, MacroPoint is funding the purchase of one-of-a-kind, limited-release collectible trucks that are being sold during the annual gala organized by the TCA to support WAA. Each truck purchased also provides funds for two wreaths to be placed on gravestones at Arlington National Cemetery. As an added bonus at the gala, one of the collectible trucks will be “hauling” $100.
Truckload of Respect is an outreach project conducted and managed by the TCA to ensure that every remembrance wreath donated for placement on a veteran’s grave as part of the WAA project is delivered to its destination without cost to the charity or cemetery. TCA works through its member companies and the trucking industry to secure volunteer commitments to haul wreaths, and also coordinates logistics for WAA.
In 2014, WAA and Truckload of Respect hauled more than 230,000 wreaths to Arlington National Cemetery and delivered 490,000 wreaths to 1,034 cemetery locations across the nation. The wreaths were hauled by 160 volunteer trucking companies.
