Dynamic Systems Inc, a Redmond WA software developer specializing in barcode data collection, has released an updated inventory module for its SIMBA (Specialized Inventory Management with Barcode Accuracy) system that gives an accurate, up-to-the-minute inventory count.
SIMBA adheres to current Produce Traceability Initiative (PTI) food traceability requirements.
Increasing production speed and traceability, it solves the problem of how to produce and track complete product labeling for fresh food in real time.
This system allows a production line worker to change content of product labels with one fingertip on a computer, capturing product information (weight, size, color, and grade) and printing a label with a barcode identifier for that tote or carton.
Label information is stored in the SIMBA Food Traceability System, which then provides production and inventory reports. Cartons may be accumulated onto a pallet and tracked with a single pallet identifier. This gives the user complete traceability of the product from receiving to shipping with real-time inventory tracking.
At the time of shipping, the Logistics feature of SIMBA tracks each carton or pallet onto a specific van. A bill of lading is then produced automatically, and inventory is reduced. This feature not only saves time in the shipping process, but it also eliminates disputes with the customer about what actually was shipped.
Key results from implementing SIMBA software include increased production speed; the ability to get same-day, accurate production reports; ability to fulfill traceability requirements; real-time, accurate inventory; professional-looking carton and pallet labels; and expedited van loading.
