Decker Truck Line and the Zylstra Harley-Davidson motorcycle dealership have teamed up to recognize Decker’s most outstanding driver for 2016.
As part of a new incentive program for truck drivers, Decker will reward one Grand Champion Driver of the Year with a brand new Harley-Davidson motorcycle from Zylstra Harley-Davidson of Ames IA.
This promotion is part of a new Decker Driver of the Month/Driver of the Year program to reward outstanding truck drivers on three levels: Drivers of the Month, Division Drivers of the Year, and Grand Champion Driver of the Year.
“We’re proud to recognize the many outstanding drivers we have at Decker,” said Todd Smith, chief operating officer. “We want to reward their dedication in a tangible way, and we thank Zylstra Harley-Davidson for partnering with us to offer some of the most desirable prizes for this highest award. To be nominated for all of these awards, we’ll be looking at every driver’s overall performance within all areas of the company, including operational productivity, safety record, maintenance/care of equipment, payroll, billing, and customer service.”
Each month, Decker will select a Driver of the Month from each of its divisions, from drivers nominated by their fleet managers. Along with receiving $100 Walmart gift cards and items from Decker’s company store, these drivers will then be in the running for being named Division Driver of the Year.
A Division Driver of the Year will be chosen for each of the four Decker divisions and will receive a Driver of the Year jacket, plaque, tractor door decal, and an additional $.01 mile for all miles driven in 2017.
An overall Grand Champion Driver of the Year will be selected from the four Drivers of the Year. This driver will receive a new 2016 Harley-Davidson Road King motorcycle, $500 in motor clothes, and $500 in motorcycle parts and accessories, provided by Zylstra Harley-Davidson. Decker will pay the cost of the driver’s taxes on this award, as well as providing a Grand Champion tractor door decal.
