MacroPoint, creator of patented freight tracking software designed to give shippers, brokers, 3PLs, and carriers real-time visibility into load status, has announced a long-term agreement with Armstrong Transport Group.
The logistics services provider will enable the MacroPoint load tracking system at 73 agent offices where more than 450 brokers manage 10,000-plus loads per month, and integrate the software with its Transportation Management System.
“MacroPoint will make it easier for us to provide load tracking for our many customers with time sensitive needs,” said Brian Mann, chief operating officer at Armstrong. “Meeting their requirement for load status updates every four hours created a lot of work calling drivers and then calling or notifying customers. MacroPoint makes it simple to automate the process, and the ease of integration with our TMS made it a turnkey solution for our users and drivers.”
Headquartered in Charlotte NC, Armstrong has grown from two-person start-up in 2006 into a nationwide network of agents and brokers. The firm provides refrigerated, dry van, flatbed, and specialized truckload, LTL, heavy haul, expedited, rail, and air freight services throughout North America.
“Investing in MacroPoint’s tracking technology will benefit not only our customers but also provide best-in-class tools for our agents and brokers,” said Christopher Cobb, chief executive officer at Armstrong. “With MacroPoint, we can now provide our customers with as many location updates as they want.”
MacroPoint load tracking software provides arrival and departure notification and out-of-route monitoring by tracking the location of a driver’s mobile phone or existing in-cab ELD/GPS devices.
