Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT) and Penske Truck have partnered to provide a new tractor maintenance program for MVT’s nationwide fleet of more than 1,300 trucks.
The new program allows for MVT to improve productivity and driver earning potential. In addition to preventative maintenance, Penske will provide roadside maintenance with a service guarantee for temporary equipment if a fix cannot be made within one hour.
“Our hope is that this added benefit will improve driver experience and satisfaction by minimizing equipment-related downtime,” said Royal Jones, president and CEO.
The Penske partnership is the latest part of MVT’s initiative to keep drivers moving. Previous partnerships include Hot Track Xpress, Eco Flaps and SmartWay.
MVT, with locations in Las Cruces NM and El Paso TX, began in 1981 hauling primarily refrigerated/perishable goods, as a small, independent fleet in the Southwest. Today it is one of the largest locally owned transportation providers in western Texas and New Mexico.
