The Allen Lund Company welcomed a generous toy donation from The Hillside School and Learning Center in La Cañada CA. The donation was presented by students along with Cyndi Hatcher, the center’s assistant director. This donation will add to the efforts of a toy drive to benefit the Society of St Vincent de Paul.

“Every toy helps, and we thank Hillside School for joining us in the effort in providing toys to hundreds of children this holiday season,” said Kenny Lund, Allen Lund Co vice-president–support operations.

Toy donations will be distributed at St Vincent de Paul to more than 700 families December 17. Families will receive a toy and pair of shoes for each child as well as a Christmas meal, which will be provided by Navidad en el Barrio.

Established in 1976, the Allen Lund Co managed more than 310,000 shipments in 2015, and received the 2013 “Best in Cargo Security Award.” The NASTC (National Association of Small Trucking Companies) named Allen Lund Co the 2010 Best Broker of the Year, and in 2011 the company received the TIA 3PL Samaritan Award.

The winner of the 2016 TIA Samaritan Award was Trinity Logistics. On the company’s website is an article discussing the activities that led to the firm’s selection:

Trinity Logistics, in conjunction with its non-profit organization, the Trinity Foundation, organizes events to benefit charitable causes year-round. The main focus areas include the local communities surrounding Trinity’s five main offices, health awareness, and youth leadership development. The Foundation gives out scholarships for local youth and raises funds for causes including local cancer and heart centers, sports events, meal drives, and support for families in need at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

“Together, over the past ten years, Team Trinity and the Foundation have been involved in many causes and local community projects, from feeding the hungry, to youth leadership development programs and support of our military. We have raised thousands of dollars in support of those efforts,” said Amy Proctor, Trinity Foundation director. “We are so honored that the TIA would recognize these efforts by selecting us as the 2016 Samaritan Award winner.”

The company also has a logistics and software division, ALC Logistics, and an International Division licensed by the FMC.
