Werner Enterprises again designated as military spouse friendly employer

Transportation and logistics provider Werner Enterprises (NASDAQ:WERN) has announced its designation as a 2018 Military Spouse Friendly Employer by GI Jobs magazine for the third consecutive year. Werner was recognized as number two on the list of 92 Military Spouse Friendly Employers.

“We are honored to have a strong veteran and veteran spouse workforce at Werner, and we appreciate the opportunity to support those who have sacrificed to serve our nation,” said Derek Leathers, president and chief executive officer.

As a military-friendly employer, Werner has pledged to hire 2,000 veterans and 250 veteran spouses in 2018. The company says military veterans and veteran spouses comprise approximately 20% of its workforce. Since 2006, Werner has hired more than 26,000 military veterans and has hired more than 740 veteran spouses since 2013.
