Navajo Express, which operates one of the largest refrigerated fleets in the country, recently was recognized by the Colorado Motor Carriers Association during its annual safety awards banquet virtual presentation.
The Denver CO-based carrier took second place in the Truckload Over 2 Million Miles Fleet Safety category, and Jay Thomas, Navajo’s vice president of safety, was named the Safety Professional of the Year for 2019-20.
CMCA’s safety awards banquet celebrates individuals and fleets for their dedication and performance in the trucking industry. With more than 650 companies and 105,000 employees either involved or associated with trucking in the state of Colorado, the CMCA puts a strong emphasis on safety initiatives and performances.
“Everything we do at Navajo begins and ends with safety,” said Don Digby Jr., CEO and owner of Navajo. “It is our obligation to our drivers and to the motoring public to perform our services at the highest level and quality, which includes delivering safely. We are extremely excited for Jay and our safety team. Their efforts and dedication toward fleet safety continue to make vast improvements, so it’s a pleasure to see them recognized.”
With more than 75 years of experience facilitating transportation solutions, Navajo’s services include dedicated fleets, dry and reefer options, specialized equipment, brokerage, and truckload services. The company, founded in 1981 by Don Digby Sr., has headquarters in Denver and terminals in Salt Lake City UT, Tolleson AZ and Lakeland FL.
