April 29, 2013
The California Air Resources Board has posted TRU Advisory 13-27 on the board’s transport refrigeration unit website.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has posted TRU Advisory 13-27 on the board’s transport refrigeration unit (TRU) website.

In 2004, the TRU Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) was adopted by the board to reduce diesel particulate matter emissions from TRUs and TRU gen-set engines. The board adopted amendments in November 2010 and October 2011.

Advisory 13-27 explains the new requirements that apply to engine rebuilders if they rebuild TRU engines to comply with the TRU regulation. General information about this regulation is also on the website.

More detailed information is provided in Advisory 13-27, which is available at www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/tru/documents/advisory_13_27.pdf. This advisory is also posted on the TRU website at www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/tru/tru.htm.

For answers to questions about compliance or registration, call the TRU Help Line at 1-888-878-2826 or 1-916-327-8737.
