Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company, the City of Industry CA-based manufacturer of refrigerated trailers, dry freight vans, flatbeds, and Tautliner curtainside trailers, announced that its Marion VA manufacturing facility has achieved more than 2 million hours without a single lost-time accident.

Each of Utility’s manufacturing facilities has a fully staffed Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Department, which has helped the company take a proactive approach in implementing strict safety practices that go beyond standard compliance with regulations.

“The accomplishment of 2 million hours without a lost-time accident is the result of the effort of every employee being cognizant of their own personal well-being everyday,” said Dan Potts, EHS manager.

“Without the outstanding safety education and training resources offered by Utility as well as the great work ethic of our committed employees, we would have not been able to achieve such an important milestone,” said Brad Starkey, plant manager.

Utility operates five trailer manufacturing facilities across the United States. Besides the Marion location, the Clearfield UT facility manufactures refrigerated trailers. Dry vans are manufactured in Glade Spring VA and Paragould AR. Utility also has a facility in Enterprise AL that manufactures flatbeds and Tautliners. Over the past few years, the company has nearly tripled its EHS personnel for each of its manufacturing facilities, and all have achieved reductions in accident rates.
