Truckweight's Smart Scale is a wireless onboard weigh scale for air suspensions, designed to be an accurate, affordable way to meet payload targets, load efficiently, and eliminate overweight violations. It is accurate to within 0.3% (about 150 pounds) of actual gross vehicle weight.

Additionally, Smart Scale eliminates complicated installation, maintenance, and downtime associated with hardwired onboard scales.

The scale operates by reading temperature and pressure changes in a vehicle's air suspension line. Tiny sensors, mounted to the frame of the tractor or trailer and tied into the air suspension line, send information directly to the handheld receiver, which translates the readings into weight measurements.

Weight can be monitored by the weight of axle groups or by gross vehicle weight, allowing verification of a vehicle's gross weight or to see how that weight is balanced across the axles.

Because Smart Scale is wireless, weight can be monitored from inside the cab or up to 500 feet away.

Installation is quick and simple, requires no special tools or skills, and typically takes 30 minutes for a standard five-axle tractor-trailer. There are only three components: the Smart Sensor with integrated antenna and 3/8-inch fittings; a tee fitting for the air line; and the wireless handheld receiver.

TruckWeight also offers a version of Smart Scale for mechanical-spring suspensions.

Later this year, the company will release Fleet Link, a telematics component that allows data to be shared across satellite- or cellular-based communications networks.
