More than 55,000 oil and gas professionals from around the world will gather in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to attend the Rio Oil & Gas Expo and Conference, set for September 17–20, 2012. Established in 1982, the show provides visitors access to panels on pressing issues facing the industry such as operational safety and exploration frontiers.
Visitors will also have access to 1,500 leading suppliers from the oil and gas industry showcasing their latest innovations. Organized by the Brazilian Petroleum, Gas, and Biofuels Institute (IBP), this year’s event has the the slogan “Innovation and growth with Responsibility.”
Klinge Corporation, exhibiting at the State of Pennsylvania Pavilion, will be showcasing its new Zone 1 explosion-proof refrigerated container.
The Zone 1 system, Model PFR-581 Z1, is intended for safe use in places likely to become endangered by explosive atmospheres. It complies with the ATEX Directive, which sets forth safety guidelines for equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres, like the environments frequently encountered in the oil and gas industry. The system is being certified to this standard by a leading testing body.
Klinge also offers an explosion-proof refrigerated container for less-demanding Zone 2 hazardous areas, as well as units for transport of hazardous cargo such as IMO Class 5.2 organic peroxides and Class 4.1 self-reactive hazardous cargo.
Zone 1 and Zone 2 refrigeration equipment can be mounted to 10- or 20-foot DNV 2.7.1/EN 12079-certified containers also developed specifically by Klinge for the offshore industry. The DNV container is designed to comply with stringent offshore regulations to ensure safety of personnel working on oil rigs and oil tankers, as well as the environment. The refrigeration equipment is also available on ISO-certified containers.
