The HT Composite XT dry freight van trailer from Hyundai Translead is designed specifically for extra tough protection from everyday wear-and-tear.

The lightweight trailer is engineered with an extruded aluminum bottom rail with interior scuff height of 16 inches and several centrally located external ribs for increased stiffness and scrape resistance. Additionally, the bottom rail and extended scuff both have interior and exterior ribs, providing protection to the fasteners while adding strength and rigidity.

“If a forklift happens to hit the lower inside wall of the trailer, known as the damage zone, the forklift will strike the extended extra tough aluminum bottom rail, not the composite sidewall panels, said company vice president Stuart James. “This results in less downtime, increased utilization, and greater profits.”

Front wall posts are reinforced with special angle clips and welded to the upper coupler for maximum strength, he added.

The trailer has fully interchangeable individual composite panels, and composite panels are interchangeable with aluminum panels for greater repair flexibility.

With a full 101-½-inch panel-to-panel interior width, the composite design provides a larger cubic capacity, said James. That results in increased productivity and revenue, which bring about a faster return on investment.

The HT Composite XT, available in any length configurations up to 53 feet, comes standard with the HT Corrosion Resistance Package “for optimal corrosion protection to help extend service life and superior appearance.”
