NYK Line (North America) Inc has selected PAR Technology Corp's GT 200 Genset Tracking system for its fleet of power units. NYK's current operating fleet of gensets is roughly 865 units. Under terms of the agreement, NYK plans to roll out PAR's system on a continual basis.

A genset (short for “generator set”) is a self-contained and dedicated electrical generation system mounted on a refrigerated container for maintaining temperature throughout the logistics cycle. In North America, steamship lines and lease companies own, operate, and maintain, roughly 100,000 of these types of assets.

PAR's system will provide essential information to NYK on its gensets and intermodal refrigerated container's status, location, fuel levels, battery, hours of operation, and history. NYK can use this information to provide reliable and protected services to shippers of perishable commodities.
