OTC, a manufacturer and supplier of vehicle electronic diagnostic instruments, has unveiled several new scan tools that read and clear diagnostic trouble codes on the latest medium and heavy duty vehicles.

The 3418 HD Reader, designed for Class 4-8 trucks, enables technicians to obtain on-screen support and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) definitions for generic standard codes. This includes support on the latest SAE J1587, J1708, and J1939 protocol standards, as well as support for controller area network (CAN) systems, engines, transmissions, and ABS diagnostics.

For use on all classes of vehicles is the new stand-alone HD Scan tool that offers a cost-effective OBD (onboard diagnostics)-II testing system. The device makes interpreting diagnostic data clearer and more accessible, while adding advanced graphing and automatic recording capabilities into a large color display.

The new Heavy Duty Standard Deluxe Kit is intended for mixed fleet service applications, and covers the same diagnostic systems as the 3418 HD Reader.
