Aura Systems acquires Emerald assets

Aura Systems Inc. has acquired all of the transport refrigeration assets of Emerald Leasing of Atlanta GA.

Aura Systems Inc. has acquired all of the transport refrigeration assets of Emerald Leasing of Atlanta GA. Assets acquired include the all-electric transport refrigeration system, approximately six acres of a service and installation yard and facility, refrigeration-related inventory, and a number of employees including Joseph Dickman, Emerald’s president.

The agreement with Emerald returns the previously assigned exclusive selling rights for transport refrigeration to Aura. As a result, Aura can now offer an end-to-end integrated system to its customers in the refrigerated truck business.

Dickman joins Aura as vice president of sales and marketing for the trucking industry. He has more than 15 years of experience in business, and in particular all aspects of sales and service of the mid-size trucking industry.

"The industry estimates that approximately 15,000-20,000 new mid-size refrigeration trucks are purchased every year," said Dickman. "The AuraGen provides a green solution by completely eliminating the typical diesel engine that is used to power the refrigeration system. Given the recent price of diesel fuel at over $4 per gallon, the AuraGen all-electric solution provides a savings of approximately $4,000 per year in fuel alone. The key is the AuraGen’s ability to start a 3- to 4-horsepower compressor. In addition to the transport refrigeration industry, the AuraGen opens a whole new world for many vocations in the trucking industry."
