Meritor WABCO Vehicle Control Systems has announced the availability of its patented single piston PAN 22 Series air disc brake on three Meritor trailer suspensions: the new Meritor Trailing Arm air suspension 23,000-lb unit, and RideSentry air-ride trailer suspension (MPA 20 and 38/40,000-lb) models. The brake can be specified immediately.

This brake offers the new Meritor integrated weld on the axle’s torque plate and an aluminum hub, flat-style rotor.

An optimized pad size increases lining life to maximize vehicle up time. An integral molded friction pad virtually eliminates rustjacking.

The PAN 22 weighs 79 pounds including pads, and its brake design results in fewer parts to service. It also delivers braking torque performance up to 24,000 Nm. The brake has larger, thicker pads for longer pad replacement intervals.
