ATHS will conduct Antique Truck Show

Hundreds of antique trucks and thousands of trucking enthusiasts will gather in Yakima WA for the American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) 2013 National Convention and Antique Truck Show

Hundreds of antique trucks and thousands of trucking enthusiasts will gather in Yakima WA for the American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) 2013 National Convention and Antique Truck Show.

Trucks of nearly every vintage and make will be represented at the show, including the high spoke-wheel trucks of the early 1900s to the big 18-wheeler rigs seen today on America’s highways. To be considered an antique, a truck must be at least 25 years old.

New this year, NAST (National Association of Show Trucks) will meet in conjunction with the ATHS national convention, which will draw in even more trucks. This will add even more variety of trucks, because NAST trucks are generally working show trucks that are usually a few years old.

In addition to the Antique Truck Show, the convention will include a variety of vendors and a speaker’s program with these topics: Alcoa Aluminum Truck Wheels, Logging Industry and Trucking, History of Sterling Trucks, and Yakima Valley Trucking History.

Tickets cost $11 per day for ages 15 and older; admission is free for children 14 and younger with a paying adult. Tickets can be purchased in advance on http://ticketswest.rdln.com.

The show takes place May 30–June 1, 2013 at the Yakima Valley SunDome/State Fair Park and is open to the public from 8 am to 8 pm. Show trucks can register from 8 am to 5 pm; an auction will be held at 10 am June 1.
