Jackie Tennant, 62, has been an owner-operator for 35 years and accumulated some four million miles of road service. For the past 15 years, she has been running a Kenworth W900 tractor with an Eaton RTLO 13-speed manual transmission that, she reports, recently surpassed two million miles of repair-free road service.
“Amazingly, I’ve never had to tear it apart once,” she said. By way of comparison, during that same period, she’s had her engine overhauled twice, replaced her brakes roughly 15 times, and changed her tires about 23 times.
Tennant has a lease with Intel Carriers, which is based in DeForest WI, and typically hauls refrigerated freight from the Midwest to Texas and Florida.
