A recent survey of forklift practices, conducted by the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IAWR), revealed that the average amount of continuous time spent in 0°F to 20°F freezers by forklift truck operators is 55 minutes. The longest time spent in continuous minutes in the same temperature range averages 90 minutes.

For freezer temperatures in the range of 0°F to -20°F, the average time is 47 minutes while the average longest time is 78 minutes.

The IAWR survey also found that forklift equipment is rarely left in the freezer during operator changes or when operators are on break.
