The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has verified the Rypos DPF/LETRU (Level 2 Plus) diesel particulate filter can be used to comply with the Low-Emission Transport Refrigeration Unit (LETRU) in-use performance standards on most trailer transport refrigeration units using 2002 and older model year engines.
These standards are specified in CARB’s TRU Airborne Toxic Control Measure.
The Rypos DPF/LETRU consists of active flow-through filters made out of an electrically conductive sintered metal fiber medium. It has a microprocessor controlled with a backpressure control system, an electrical control circuit, and a backpressure warning indicator.
TRU owners can read about the specific conditions for which the Rypos DPF/LETRU has been approved by accessing http://www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/verdev/level2/level2.htm. Specific engine models and families that apply are also listed.
Compliance information related to the TRU Airborne Toxic Control Measure is available at: http://www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/tru.htm
