KES Science & Technology Inc, a global provider and innovator of postharvest preservation technology, announced that Garden Fresh Vegetables has integrated the NASA-developed AiroCide food safety preventive controls air sanitation technology into its greenhouse in O’Neill NE.

Garden Fresh Vegetables competes in the hydroponic vegetable/fruit business; producing and selling fresh tomatoes and cucumbers year-round. The greenhouse process is designed to ripen produce naturally, not through artificial chemicals.

The company prides itself on consistent production of quality fresh produce. By focusing on quality, excellent customer service, and efficient production, managers and owners believe a long-term, strong demand for hydroponic produce will be successfully sustained.

“Since installing AiroCide, we have been very satisfied with the system and how it has helped our products. Food safety is our top priority, and AiroCide plays a big part in that priority,” said Terry L Landes II, Garden Fresh Vegetables spokesperson.

Airborne cross-contamination can pose a threat to food safety. With AiroCide, airborne mold, fungi, bacteria, and viruses are destroyed, as well as removing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as ethylene gas.
