Great Dane and Johnson Refrigerated Truck Bodies products tailored specifically for the foodservice industry are on exhibit October 21–23 at the 2014 International Food Distributors Association (IFDA) Distribution Solutions Conference (DSC). Attendees at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis IN can visit Booth #201 to see the all-new Johnson Alpine series sheet and post refrigerated truck body and a specially configured Great Dane Everest CL refrigerated trailer. Both models on display are engineered specifically to meet stringent food safety regulations and the demanding needs of foodservice customers. The Alpine truck body is the result of a collaborative effort between Great Dane and Johnson.  The finished product features the hallmarks of Great Dane and Johnson engineering and quality. Like other Johnson products, the Alpine is engineered to have superior structural integrity and manufactured to meet strict quality standards. Its modular panel sheet and post construction combines manufacturing and cost efficiency with ease of repair in the event of damage. The foaming method refined and proven by Great Dane ensures optimal quality with void-free insulation and a high level of thermal efficiency. The Alpine’s durable superstructure is built to suit a range of refrigerated applications while lowering the cost of operation and minimizing maintenance requirements. A variety of options for custom body height, length, width, and door configurations are available.
The Alpine on display at the show is a 24-foot body with curbside door, mounted on an International 4400 SBA 4 x 2 chassis. Showcased next to the Alpine is a 42-ft Great Dane Everest CL multi-temp refrigerated trailer. Specialty options on the show trailer include ThermoGuard interior lining—developed exclusively by Great Dane—Grote’s new Lightform LED interior lighting with Great Dane’s patent-pending cove molding design, Grote  LED Entrance Lighting that adds up to 12 feet of exterior lighting, and a 20,000-lb forklift load-rated heavy-duty reefer floor. The ECL on display also features two curbside doors featuring Great Dane’s exclusive blade lock system with full-length seal, a Randall Folding EL Platform and a newly developed Randall Floor-Deployed Platform for ease and efficiency of side deliveries. The CL is designed with versatility in mind. Highly customizable options are available to accommodate any temperature-controlled application. Moveable bulkheads allow an ambient section and up to three precisely controlled compartments for sensitive cargo. Multiple side and rear door configurations and access systems are available. Standard features across the Everest line include a strong stainless steel rear frame, a stainless steel front bottom rail, and Great Dane’s highly consistent modular panel foaming process. Extreme durability is standard from top to bottom with the Everest’s lightweight bonded composite roof system and heavy-duty floor construction, providing defense against moisture intrusion. Standard PunctureGuard interior lining, premium landing gear, and Stemco’s Platinum Performance Plus wheel end system are offered on every Everest reefer, and composite sills and furring help eliminate use of wood in the trailer.
