Intermodal 45-foot container manufacturing provider UNIT45 has partnered with Globe Tracker International, a leader in global supply chain visibility, to provide a commercial smart refrigerated container.
This system will combine data from the refrigeration unit with data collected from wireless sensors reporting condition and security variables from both inside and outside a container. Compilation of this data offers a true picture of cargo–in–transit and reduces risk and loss across the intermodal supply chain.
“We are pleased to partner with UNIT45 to bring this exciting technology to the global marketplace. This solution is a direct result of listening to the customer and understanding the challenges of the global supply chain,” said Jim Davis, chief executive officer of Globe Tracker International.
“UNIT45 BV is as an intermodal innovator constantly evolving business, developing in line with the market in order to provide its customers with state-of-the-art container solutions they require such as securing their high-value cargo. We are very delighted to be cooperating with Globe Tracker International,” said Jan Koolen, managing director of UNIT45.
As an “intermodal innovator,” UNIT45 concentrates exclusively on development, construction, financing, and delivery of 45-ft containers, meeting specific requirements of the client. The 45-ft container concept represents an efficient solution for logistical modality problems of the future.
A privately held Danish company, Globe Tracker opened a development center in Beijing, China in February 2007. It now has offices and development centers in Qingdao, China; Copenhagen, Denmark; Reykjavik, Iceland; Tórshavn, Faroe Islands; and Melbourne FL.
