Thermo King’s ThermoLite shines at DSC
Thermo King, a manufacturer of transport temperature control solutions and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, is showcasing its new ThermoLite solar panel solution October 27-28 at the 2015 International Foodservice Distribution Association (IFDA) Distribution Solutions Conference (DSC) in Phoenix AZ.
Developed to provide an alternative power source to refrigerated and dry fleets, ThermoLite offsets telematics and other parasitic loads that drain battery life and create downtime.
“Our solar panels enable TracKing and other telematics systems to monitor assets over long periods of time, even when the transport refrigeration unit is off, while also safeguarding the health of the battery,” said Paul Kroes, solar business development manager at Thermo King. “Our goal is to continue to bring customers the most innovative solutions that are efficient and reliable, and improve the bottom line.”
An advanced and durable solar solution, ThermoLite’s patent-pending charge controller technology optimizes charging from the solar array to the battery bank, extending battery life and increasing fuel savings over the life of the asset. ThermoLite eliminates concerns regarding electrical power surges, reverse polarity (shock hazard), overcharging, and high-voltage jump starting.
No matter what climate a driver is in, ThermoLite is designed to withstand the harshest weather conditions—even in the dead of winter—from high-velocity wind and rain, to extreme hot and cold environments, hail, and corrosive exposure. Key benefits include:
•Unit battery life improvement
•Reduced downtime
•Fuel savings from battery charging Cycle Sentry
•20-plus year product life
•Department of Transportation height certified
The ThermoLite solar panel solution includes three models. ThermoLite 26W supports both Thermo King and competitor transport refrigerated unit batteries, while ThermoLite 36W supports Thermo King’s Heat King, rail in Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Both are now available, and the ThermoLite 100-300W, which supports liftgate and pallet-jack charging, will be available November 9.
ThermoLite will be on display at the Thermo King Booth #211. Experts from Thermo King will be on-site and available to discuss key benefits of each model, as well as solar panel issues and trends.
