CAS DataLoggers and Lascar have announced the latest portable temperature monitoring system: the new EL-GFX-1 graphic temperature data logger.
Now users can rely on this standalone data logger with highly visible LEDs, audible alarm, large memory, and a temperature-triggered logging mode. The data logger’s high-contrast graphic LCD shows real-time readings, graphs, and current status, while its micro USB port enables PC-based setup and data download. These data loggers are ideal for temperature monitoring applications including cold chain transportation and storage, medical refrigerator monitoring, and HVAC projects.
Users simply check their current temperature data onscreen to view real-time readings, graph, and current status. This allows users to start, stop, and restart the data logger using on-screen menus. The data logger also features highly visible alarm LEDs so users stay on top of their data.
The EL-GFX-1 uses an internal temperature probe to measure temperature over a –30 to +80º C (–22 to +176º F) range at a resolution of 0.1º C. Using free Windows control software, users can quickly set up the data logger and view downloaded data by connecting the device to a PC’s USB port using the supplied cable. The logger’s temperature-triggered start mode means users can save memory by setting the device to record only when its sensors reach a certain temperature, and the logger’s memory can store more than 250,000 readings.
This menu also provides real-time analysis of data either as a data summary (showing highest and lowest readings and alarm conditions) or as a graph that updates as new data is added. The data logger also features a Micro USB interface for PC-based setup and data download. Multiple data logging sessions can be stored on the device for upload to a PC later. The data logger’s design provides IP-67 waterproof protection and is supplied with two replaceable ½AA batteries to allow continuous logging for up to a year.
Lascar’s Easylog USB control software runs via Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7. The software is used to set up the data logger as well as download, graph, and export data to Excel. Each stored logging session is saved as a separate file. The latest version of the control software can be downloaded free of charge from the manufacturer.
The software allows several parameters to be configured, including choice of Celcius or Fahrenheit, logging rate (user-selectable between once every 10 seconds and every 12 hours), and high- and low-temperature alarms.
Users can choose between immediate, delayed, push-button, or temperature-triggered start modes. They can also disable or enable the LEDs, set the audible alarm for delayed activation, or backlight the display. The data logger does not lose stored readings when batteries are discharged or replaced.
