OCEASOFT, a global provider of sensor-based systems for monitoring environmental parameters, has announced a single-use temperature-tracking tool whose measurements can be read through isotherm wrapping or container walls via smartphones and tablets using Bluetooth technology.
The OCEASOFT Atlas module is designed to meet a growing demand for an inexpensive, disposable temperature tracker that allows users to improve quality control while managing costs better. It eliminates the need for returning data loggers, and because it is inexpensive, reduces costs of lost modules. In addition, it provides an inexpensive temperature-tracking option for high-volume shipments that require hundreds or thousands of modules.
Designed for the life-sciences market, the pharma industry, specialized transport, and cold chain companies, OCEASOFT Atlas will simplify compliance with expected mandatory cold-chain monitoring requirements during shipment of medicines or vaccines.
Most tracking solutions require computer systems—and in some cases, software and docking stations—to read information gathered by sensors. Rarely do they come with a Bluetooth low-energy connection to read information. Another key advantage of OCEASOFT Atlas is that it allows users to easily upload data to the Cloud from their smartphones or tablets using the free Dropbox connectivity or GoogleDrive included in the OceaView apps.
“OCEASOFT Atlas is a revolutionary monitoring tool that helps companies inexpensively address multiple current and future requirements in cold-chain shipping,” said Laurent Rousseau, OCEASOFT chief executive officer. “The ability to download information to mobile devices and then send it directly to the Dropbox or Google Drive platforms for later use is unique in devices priced this low. In addition to its cost-and-functionality benefits, its small size means it can be attached to every box of drugs being shipped, if necessary.”
Also offered is a solution via the company’s open platform, OCEACloud, that is equipped with an interface (API) allowing supply-chain managers to integrate data directly to information systems. Now available on Android and iOS for smartphones and tablets, OceaView soon will be available as an application allowing smartwatch owners to read the recorders directly.
