Yale walkie pallet truck raises bar for efficiency

Yale Materials Handling Corporation introduced the MPB045-VG heavy-duty walkie pallet truck at the MODEX 2014 show recently. The new walkie is designed to increase efficiency and productivity through exceptional operator comfort and innovative performance-enhancing features.
“This heavy-duty walkie pallet truck is available with Yale’s patented Smart Lift, which can reduce cycle times by up to 25%,” said David McNeill, warehouse product manager for Yale. “This industry-exclusive feature increases efficiency by allowing the operator to begin transporting the pallet before the unit is at full lift. Smart Lift automatically permits the pallet to rise to maximum fork height without the operator having to continually hold the lift button, creating simultaneous lift and travel.”
To achieve best-in-class stability and maneuverability, the truck can also be equipped with Yale’s Smart Slow Down technology. When the operator turns the truck during cornering, this feature automatically reduces truck speed, enabling the operator to maneuver through the warehouse more confidently.
Designed to balance the constraints of steer effort, visibility, and maneuverability, the walkie pallet truck’s control handle is optimally positioned through a mid-mounted, shortened design. The control handle provides optimized ergonomics with a large operating range, allowing the operator to move the handle to various working positions while providing a solid grip for more control. Lift, lower, and horn push buttons are at the operator’s fingertips for easy access without having to release the grip.
By combining a heavy-duty steel drive frame with a sturdy drive unit cover, the walkie offers a dependable drive unit frame. The drive unit cover is made of a durable yet flexible thermoplastic elastomer that resists chipping and rust.
When service is required, the walkie is designed with an easy-to-remove cover requiring no tools, allowing convenient access to main components. Lubrication fittings are accessible for routine servicing.
