City Line Foodservice improves safety, compliance by using Safe Fleet products

July 3, 2018
See how City Line Foodservice has boosted safety and compliance by using Safe Fleet Truck & Trailer products.

City Line Foodservice, a New England-based independent, full-service food distributor, has partnered with Safe Fleet Truck & Trailer to outfit its latest fleet of straight trucks with Safe Fleet’s full complement of products—temperature control, access and backup cameras.

Challenges facing foodservice delivery organizations such as City Line include Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) compliance (keeping food at the right temperature while in transit); keeping drivers safe while delivering product; and preventing and reducing backup accidents.

City Line has more than 40 trucks a day on the road, six days a week, and an inventory of 12,000-plus SKUs. Its customers count on timely and efficient delivery of product at proper temperatures. Drivers are counting on equipment that provides them the confidence to do their jobs faster, better and safer. City Line is keeping life on the road and its drivers safe with accident prevention technology such as backup cameras. The Safe Fleet product portfolio of temperature control, access, and backup cameras, coupled with an experienced sales team, enables City Line to meet FSMA compliance and safety standards from one partner.

“Having one point of contact for our delivery needs in and out of the truck—temperature control, access and now backup cameras—is paramount in our decision to work with Safe Fleet Truck and Trailer,” said Steve Dizinno, director of operations at City Line. “Safe Fleet Truck & Trailer offers the most comprehensive line of products for my fleet with a sales person, Kyle Allen, who knows our business very well. This makes my job easier and more efficient.”

“The objective of our ONE for Fleets solution for organizations like City Line is to deliver a premium solution- in and out of the truck or trailer. This helps our customers achieve the highest level of compliance and safety from one point of contact who knows their business,” said Chuck Carey, vice president of sales of Safe Fleet Truck & Trailer. “Our partnership with City Line is a game changer—by significantly boosting City Line’s safety and compliance initiatives.”
