PREMIUMPACK is a Vienna, Austria-based company with production facilities close to its headquarters. The company manufactures packaging materials in the form of shrink bags and has been working with cargo-partner since 2013. PREMIUMPACK’s products, which are sold worldwide, contribute to conserving the taste, appearance and shelf life of fresh foods.

Transporting perishable goods depends not only on correct storage and temperature control, but also on optimal packaging, and PREMIUMPACK is considered a leader in this field.

In 2013, the company was looking for a reliable logistics provider that could manage transport of its products to customers worldwide and offer a suitable solution for any order, irrespective of destination and shipment volume. In addition, the company required a logistics partner that could ensure full transparency along the entire supply chain. With cargo-partner, PREMIUMPACK found a provider that could fulfill its needs from a single source.

The partnership between PREMIUMPACK and cargo-partner began in 2013 and has grown to encompass shipment volumes of 1,500 tonnes per year, with a continuing upward trend.

To keep an optimal overview of numerous shipments, cargo-partner and the packaging manufacturer rely on SPOT. The SPOT supply chain visibility & collaboration platform enables simple communication on shipment level, tracking in real time, comprehensive reporting options as well as efficient document and information management.

cargo-partner’s experience as a logistics provider with more than 35 years of expertise has been a decisive factor in resolving potential challenges. For instance, PREMIUMPACK had some negative experiences in the past with a particularly thin type of plastic foil from its product portfolio. When transporting this foil to warmer climate zones, heat and condensation had occasionally altered the properties of the material. To rule out this risk in future shipments, cargo-partner offers custom solutions using temperature-controlled reefer containers.
