ISTOBAL highlighting reefer wash system at GCCE 2019
ISTOBAL, a multinational group headquartered in Valencia, Spain specializing in vehicle wash solutions, plans to showcase its “revolutionary” new HW’INTRAWASH system in its first appearance at the Global Cold Chain Expo.
The wash system, which subsidiary ISTOBAL USA introduced to the US market late last year, is designed to ensure professional cleaning and disinfection of refrigerated trailers and box container interiors.
The company said it also is bringing its HW’PROGRESS commercial-vehicle rollover equipment to this year’s Global Cold Chain Expo, which is set for June 10-12 at McCormick Place in Chicago IL.
HW’INTRAWASH is a patented automatic system the company says is easy to install and use. It’s designed to ensure FSMA-compliant disinfection for refrigerated and dry van trailers, and shipping containers. It also helps reduce water and chemical usage, as well as cleaning time, as it can clean a 53-foot trailer interior in 3 minutes, and clean and sanitize in 6 minutes, ISTOBAL said.
The system is an industrial alternative to manual wash. Compared to a manual wash process, the machine cleans 75% faster and facilitates control over chemical products, the company maintained.
HW’INTRAWASH works by applying bactericide chemicals, and guaranteeing safe and controlled sanitization through a high-pressure pumping system and accurate chemical dosing system, ISTOBAL said. It also collects dirt and debris inside a hopper, and multiple programs make the system adaptable to individual speed or cleanliness requirements, allowing each unit to receive the wash needed.
The system can work with two different chemical products, depending on the type of cargo to wash and/or disinfect.
ISTOBAL calls its HW’PROGRESS the most flexible commercial-vehicle rollover in the market.
The optimized rollover incorporates all the technology currently in demand by transport professionals and can be adapted to the specific requirements of each type of vehicle fleet: vans, trailer trucks, buses, tankers, garbage trucks, vehicles for the construction industry and other special vehicles.
The equipment features self-driven vertical brushes with an overlapping scrub function and shampoo injection via a dosing pump, flexible configuration by user with up to 15 programs, a touch-screen control panel, and a choice of service connections: energy chain, loop connection, or fixed or swinging post.
It also has a high-density polyethylene horizontal brush equipped with a frequency converter to soften up and down movement, and five pressure levels to better follow vehicle profiles. Thanks to the model’s flexible configuration, up to four “obstacle-avoidance” scans for wing mirrors and sunscreens also are possible, ISTOBAL said.
HW’PROGRESS offers available automatic pre-wash systems (high-pressure lower side, high-pressure sides and high-pressure top) a manual pre-wash gun, and a wide range of optional extras.
