Utility collects fleet vendor award

Utility Trailer Manufacturing and dealer Craftsman Utility team up to earn seventh Vendor of the Year honor from Dot Transportation.

Dot Transportation’s annual golf outing was marked with excitement, as the organization named Utility Trailer Manufacturing and its Missouri-based dealer, Craftsmen Utility Trailer, its 2021 Vendor of the Year.

“We would like to congratulate and thank everyone at Utility from sales, field service, aftermarket and the factory that allows Craftsmen to do what we do day in and day out,” said Lou Helmsing, president of Craftsmen Utility Trailer.

Craftsmen Utility Trailer and Utility Manufacturing have teamed to win the Vendor of the Year award five times in the last decade. The two companies have won the award seven times overall. This year’s recognition was presented to Tony Mercurio, VP of sales; Aaron McCrady, service representative; Lou Helmsing, president; Joe Helmsing, chairman; and JR Wasson, director of service; of Craftsmen Utility Trailer; and Kyle Martin, sales manager, of Utility Manufacturing.

“Craftsmen Utility Trailer and Utility Trailer Manufacturing as a team working together provide Dot Transportation with quality refrigerated and dry van trailers,” said Kevin Buss, director of fleet maintenance for Dot Transportation.

When deciding who to name as the most recent Vendor of the Year, Dot cited communication and product support as strong factors in its selection of Utility Trailer Manufacturing and Craftsmen Utility Trailer.

“As a team, they are great to listen to our needs and concerns which allow them better design products that work well in our business. They also provide us with service and support ongoing after the sale,” Buss explained.
