Carrier Transicold recently introduced its TRU Status Light, which provides high-visibility indicators of transport refrigeration unit (TRU) operations in a robust, water-resistant package.

Designed with drivers and yard personnel in mind, the TRU Status Light offers two distinct LED patterns: A white circle indicating normal operation and a yellow triangle that signals an alarm on the TRU controller display. The light mounts on the front corner of the trailer and ensures quick status checks from the driver’s seat or the ground.

“Our TRU Status Light tells you at a glance whether the TRU is working as expected or needs attention,” Ching Yue Yeung, Carrier Transicold senior manager for aftermarket products, said in a news release. “This patented design is based on input from customers who want a simple, reliable unit-status indicator that’s easy to see and understand.”

    Key features include:

    • Enhanced visibility: The TRU Status Light automatically adjusts its output, increasing brightness in direct sunlight or reflective conditions and dimming at night for less glare and safer operation.
    • Sealed design: The compact, IP67-rated housing and lens are built to withstand harsh environments. The housing is UV-resistant and sealed to keep out dust, moisture and road grime.
    • TRU compatibility: The TRU Status Light seamlessly integrates with Carrier Transicold APX, Advance and Summit controllers, as well as other TRU makes.
    • Flexible installation options: Carrier Transicold offers multiple kits tailored for specific installation needs, including L-bracket and recessed bracket options. The brackets make it easy to upgrade existing light bars.

The TRU Status Light comes standard on new Carrier Transicold trailer TRUs and is available as an aftermarket replacement for legacy light bars through Carrier Transicold dealers.

Harness adapters and splitter harnesses also are available.
