ACT: Medium and heavy truck orders better than average

November orders for medium- and heavy-duty trucks were “better than average in 2012, but fell below October’s promising level of activity,” according to Act Research Co. (ACT). The research firm included this updated status of the North American commercial vehicle market in the its recently released State of the Industry report, which covers Class 5 through 8 vehicles.

 “Looking below the surface of November’s orders, the U.S. and non-NAFTA exports were the two market segments most responsible for the pullback,” pointed out Kenny Vieth, ACT’s president & senior analyst.

“In November, Class 8 orders from outside of the NAFTA zone fell to their second lowest level in three years,” he added.
