Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming the transportation industry as companies turn to the technology to drive greater productivity and efficiency, according to a new study from Ryder and Endeavor Business Intelligence.
The research found that 85% of transportation professionals say their company has already implemented AI in at least one area of transportation operations—signaling widespread adoption across the sector. Respondents overwhelmingly view AI as a critical tool for addressing key business priorities.
Based on responses from more than 100 transportation professionals representing a range of industries, the study highlights how AI is being leveraged to improve asset and labor utilization, enhance customer satisfaction, strengthen cargo security, and enable more data-driven decision-making.
Even with these benefits, many organizations remain cautious about scaling AI solutions. Implementation costs and cybersecurity risks were cited as the most significant challenges to broader adoption.
