Veritable Vegetable officially presented with Green Fleet of the Year Award

June 18, 2012

San Francisco. Veritable Vegetable (VV) was officially presented with Fleet Owner’s Green Fleet of the Year award on Friday. While sunshine poured through the dock doors of the warehouse facility on Caesar Chavez Street, company executives and managers, led by CEO Mary Jane Evans, provided a tour of the facility and stopped for photos with sponsor WIX Filters and Fleet Owner to celebrate the occasion.

VV provides full service distribution of organic fresh fruits and vegetables to retailers, restaurants, schools, corporate campuses and wholesalers. The company’s distribution area covers California plus parts of Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada. In addition to providing leadership in establishing and expanding the organic agriculture industry, VV focuses on utilizing green technologies to reduce energy consumption and waste at every level of the company, including its truck fleet.

“There are so many things to admire about your wonderful company,” Fleet Owner noted, “from the work you do to the sustainable way in which you do it. You are not only helping to make the world a cleaner and healthier place for us all, but by your good example, you are also showing other companies how they can do the same.”
