Methane gas detector for natural gas vehicle users

March 8, 2012

A new methane gas detector is available from Fireboy-Xintex that will monitor and alert to unsafe levels of methane gas.

The Xintex Methane Gas Detector is designed to monitor methane levels in and around compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered vehicles. Methane is produced by CNG and LNG fueled engines.

The detector sounds an audible alarm while also producing a visual alarm when the L.E.L (lower explosive limit) of methane reaches 50%. Features of the device include multi-colored L.E.D.s of green, yellow and red to indicate functionality, operational status and danger, a test function button and a reset button.
