Virginia police looking for clues in big rig hijacking

July 18, 2012

Police are looking for clues in a big rig hijacking where a trucker driving through Central Virginia was bound, gagged, and robbed last Friday morning, according to a WTVR News report.

The trucker was pulling out onto Technology Park Drive in Henrico, VA, just after 1 a.m., when several cars pulled in front of him, according to police. Five men forced the driver out of his truck, tied him up and took off with his rig.

It took four hours for someone to discover the trucker. A short time later, police found his 18-wheeler a few blocks away. Police had yet to determine what had been stolen out of the truck.

The truck driver was not seriously injured, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
