U.S. Xpress posted a Facebook announcement on Friday, Aug. 24, stating that missing driver Linda Richards was found on Thursday evening in Cartersville, GA. “She is safe and doing well after feeling very sick for the past couple of days,” the fleet post said.
U.S. Xpress didn’t give any further details on Richard’s disappearance but thanked truckers for helping in the search. “We are extremely grateful for all the care and concern shown by the entire USX Driving Community. We appreciate all your efforts on Linda's behalf. Like you, we are very thankful that our collective search has a happy ending.”

U.S. Xpress driver and rig missing
Linda Richards and her red U.S. Xpress tractor-trailer have gone missing, and a poster containing a photo of her and the rig are featured on a Facebook page called “Seeking the Lost.” The administrator of the page verified with U.S. Xpress that the driver and rig are missing and that the U.S. Xpress tractor number is L7378 and trailer number is 703655.
Richards was last seen when she picked up a load in the Macon, GA, and was supposed to deliver the load in Chicago on Monday, Aug. 20, but reportedly did not show. She was then expected to go by her Nashville, TN, home but never did and her cell phone has been turned off and the tractor-trailer’s satellite has apparently been disconnected.
Richards was last known to have made ATM withdrawals in the Forsyth, GA, area then disappeared. Her projected route was up I-75 north through Georgia to Chattanooga, TN, then down I-24 to Nashville. From there, she could have gone either to I-24 to Indiana, then I-57 to Chicago, or I-65 north through Kentucky then up I-90 to Chicago.
The missing driver Facebook page asks any truckers traveling along these routes to check at truck stops, rest areas, parking areas, etc. to see if they can locate her.
“If you see this truck contact 911 immediately and inform them of the alert/search. If you can, stay in view of the truck without approaching until law enforcement arrives,” the Seeking the Lost page asks.
The FB page also asks that all Facebook users share the wall post at https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=422189204484261&set=a.225056140864236.49739.222558184447365&type=1&theater on their pages, groups and profiles.
