Truck driver Roderick Jordan, 49, from Mineral Springs, AK, has been arrested and charged with murder after police discovered the body of 46-year-old James Gregory Lynn of Lancaster, TX, in the cab of Jordan’s rig.
According the arrest warrant published by the Dallas Morning News, the victim was found in the truck cab after police pulled the big rig over after witnessing smoke coming from the truck’s tires.
The arresting officer became suspicious when he witnessed Jordan “doing a lot of movement inside the vehicle.”
The policeman, only identified as “Officer Smith” in the arrest report, asked Jordan if someone else was in the truck and he responded, “No.” Smith then asked if he could look inside the cab and Jordan agreed. The officer found the victim lying in the truck with multiple stab wounds. When Smith asked Jordan who the victim was, Jordan replied, “he’s dead.”
According to the Daily News, the Lynn has a lengthy criminal history that includes resisting arrest, multiple counts of robbery and parole violations.
According to CBS News, Jordan’s truck belongs to CRST Carrier Group.
No motive for the killing has been released. Jordan was booked into the Dallas County Jail on $500,000 bail.
