For most fleets, it has become just a little tougher to find and retain good drivers lately. Freight levels are up, drivers are migrating to competing industries such as construction and fracking operations and driver churn continues.

On Tuesday, July 16 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. EDT, executives from two major fleets, Sysco Corporation and Waste Management, will share some of their companies’ driver recruiting, training, and retention programs and practices in a free webinar presented by Fleet Owner and sponsored by DriveCam.

Featured guest speakers include Jeff Martin, who serves as vice president of Waste Management safety services and Al Dibens, senior director of safety, security & business continuity management at Sysco. Both speakers have decades of experience to share.

Martin has spent some 20 years in the transportation and service industries. Dibens has been with Sysco since 2007 and has logged more than 30 years total in trucking and related industries, including operating his own safety consulting company.

Some of the topics the speakers will cover include:

    • Where new drivers are coming from
    • How fleets can identify good driver prospects-- What works and what doesn’t?
    • How technology is helping to close the experience gap
    • Tools, policies and procedures to help fleets create and keep great drivers
