Steelmate introduces TPMS, camera products

Aug. 20, 2012
Steelmate USA introduced four models of a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a backup camera for Ford trucks as the MERA Knowledgefest 2012 in Dallas, TX. Three of the four TPMS products require only a cigarette lighter plug, allowing them to be moved easily from vehicle to vehicle. The fourth unit, the TP-05, is a hideaway ECU that has video output to display the tire monitoring on screen on any in-dash radio with video inputs.

Steelmate USA introduced four models of a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a backup camera for Ford trucks at MERA Knowledgefest 2012 in Dallas, TX.

Three of the four TPMS products require only a cigarette lighter plug, allowing them to be moved easily from vehicle to vehicle. The fourth unit, the TP-05, is a hideaway ECU that has video output to display the tire monitoring on screen on any in-dash radio with video inputs.

All of the units are designed for towing trailers where tire temperature and/or air pressure monitoring is needed. Each comes with 4 in-wheel valve stems that include long-life Lithium batteries and wirelessly transmit the signal to the displays.

The TO-02 model is a basic “flashing” alert to draw attention to a tire problem. The TP-03 displays the temperature and air pressure for up to four wheels and shows the exact tire that is causing the alert. The TP-08 unit adds the capability to program a tire location for tire rotation or replacement from the iStyle display module.

Steelmate also introduced a truck tailgate handle camera for Ford trucks. The camera is part of a line that also includes cameras for GM, Dodge Ram and Toyota Tundra models.

All the models feature chrome tailgate handle covers that are shaped to house the Steelmate SM-V009F hole mount camera. The kits come, supplied with the necessary hole saw, cabling, adaptor ring and simple instructions.
