An upgrade to the PerformX wireless vehicle management system from PeopleNet extends remote monitoring of fault codes to light trucks
    Feb. 13, 2007

An upgrade to the PerformX wireless vehicle management system from PeopleNet extends remote monitoring of fault codes to light trucks using the OBD-II onboard diagnostics network. On the heavy-duty side, PerformX can now also wirelessly transmit vehicle fault codes from the vehicle’s J1587 data bus to fleet users in real-time.

The new fault-code enhancement allows fleets to decide which should be routinely held for batch downloading and which require sending a real-time alert. All J1587 data collected by PerformX can be viewed with PeopleNet’s web interface.

The OBD-II upgrade extends PerformX vehicle performance and fault-code monitoring to light trucks and vans, allowing mixed fleets to use the PeopleNet management system on their heavy-, medium- and now light-duty trucks.

Both the OBD-II and fault-monitoring enhancements will be available by the end of the first quarter, according to PeopleNet.
